Saturday morning is gymnastics morning in our house now and C. LOVES to get into her cool leotard (which she chose and it ISN'T pink or purple which is a miracle!) and head off to the gym with her dad. She then loves to come home and show off her latest skills - right now its cartwheels and bridges.
So, what did you see at your local Target? This is what I pulled up next to today. (Not bad for a phone camera, huh?)
This is a terrible photo - I really tried to fix it but its not really about the photo this time. Do you have someone who loves you, just totally loves you? Not your spouse, or your parent, but a friend like my sister, Susan? I hope both of my children find this type of friendship to feed their souls. Susan and I met for dinner and some shopping tonight and some good conversation - how can you top that? Well she made me this COOL notebook! Isn't it great? She used Janet Lawrence's kit at Shabby Pickle and made this gorgeous book for no other reason than she knew I would love it! Here Mabel is giving it a little love too because she loves Susan and can smell her on it. =) Thank you, Susan, you totally know how to make my day!
The Magnolia tree in our front yard seems to think its Springtime. We've finally had some rain and it responded by bursting into bloom. T. and I went out to the park for a bike ride for her and some swing time and it was just beautiful to be outside! Thought I'd capture this gorgeous bloom from our day!
We have a special nightly ritual that we go through - special words we say. I don't know who looks forward to it more - her or me. It was a really wonderful end to my day today - my sweet girl.
T. was up on Dad's desk, watching Finding Nemo on the ipod. I thought she was so cute, squatting through the movie like this. Nemo is the new fav movie of the week - which is a nice break from our Cars/Monsters Inc. diet.
We had a fun day today celebrating our cousin's birthday at the movies and on our way home, we stopped off for some of THE best lasagna and pizza! Yum!
We had fun dinner company tonight! My good friend and her darling girls made us dinner (yum!) and we had a fun girls night. Here are the foursome posing for a quick minute! Aren't they cute?!!
A tale of two dwas - T. calls her pacifiers dwas and she loves them dearly. Today, C. was sick (so very rare!) and I drove her to school. This was only her 3rd half day, and my first drop off and everything was super duper until we actually were in the hallway to her class - then the protesting started. SOOOO I reminded her that Mommy has to go to work to get paid and Mommy needs to get paid to buy...more dwas! And that did the trick! So despite the torential downpour tonight, on my way home I stopped to pick up a couple of these cool dwas for her. They have little "wings" that snap shut, protecting the actual mouth part if they are dropped to the ground (making them great fun too!) So here is T. modeling both of her new dwas for a Mommy who will go to great lengths to hold up her end of a bargain.
I don't remember when the polar bear joined our menagerie, but he's been a favorite for years. He was left up at the grandparent's house during the last visit and made a return trip home, courtesy of Nana and Grandpa. He was welcomed with very happy arms!
We had a rainy day today so spent some time making fun fingerprint pictures, ball and hide and seek.
C. was at date night at School so T. got to make most of the evening choices herself - and in answer to "what would you like for dinner?" I got her favorite - soup, but not any soup, Cars soup! Here she is enjoying said soup.
Making valentine's for friendship day. Both girls really enjoyed writing out their cards for their classrooms and teachers - HSM for C. and Cars for T.
So, I didn't take this photo - Husband took it using his cell phone. I took some this morning before she left for her first day of school, but this one really told the whole story. This one should be called "Love you too, bye!" She had her first day of preschool today and just loved it.
I bought one of those slider makers - the special pan that makes little mini hamburgers and the girls and I made turkey mini burgers tonight. They were a big hit and the pan worked as advertised! Eric was skeptical but I had great faith and we had yummy little mini turkey burgers. Both girls like to help in the kitchen.
We went to a really fun birthday party today at the Discovery Museum of the Bay. We ran around and around, played in the exhibits, enjoyed our friends, had yummy cake and an overall fun time.
Late afternoon trip to the park and T. went right for the race car. We had a fun time - although it was a bit chilly and after we had sushi for dinner - yum!
Surprise! Eric and I surprised C. with tickets to HSM on Ice - which was enough to be excited about BUT there is a special performance by Mr. Corbin Bleu as well - in person! Its not until March but she was pretty jazzed!
Tonight was swim lesson night and I went along to help husband with the girls. It was so great to watch them. I hadn't seen T. swim at all and I'm always amazed at C. I tried to take photos of the two of them in their swimsuits, but they just weren't cooperating, so instead I got this photo of my sweet girl who came downstairs to wish me a goodnight.
T. got some "homework" of her own today! She couldn't have been happier - we are learning to write letters. She is so proud!
Change of scenery this morning for a meeting. It was a beautiful 65 degree morning and I just love the light off of the buildings.
Husband had some bad luck on the ski slopes yesterday so instead of celebrating his 40th birthday, he was in the emergency room getting his shoulder put back into the socket - quite painful I'm told. He's being a good sport though and here he is, posing for the blog with his spiffy arm sling. Wishing him a quick recovery!
My girls playing Mama. For some reason, they think that all Mamas sit watch over their sleeping babies so they always drag a chair up to the crib/bed or whatever the dolly is sleeping in. This time C. was the baby. I had 7 great candidates today for the blog -but in the end, I just love the girls playing together and C's eyes peeking up over the blanket.
