Back from camping and FILTHY but HAPPY! Took both kids and poured them into the shower. They had a great time rolling around in the dirt before heading home today after a weekend of boating, campfire, tent sleeping and yummy food! I'm jealous so I may have to break my "no camping" rule in the future....
So now you think we spend all of our time on the new sofa. C. recently gave up naps and by Friday night she is beat. I loved her all curled up with our cat Madonna. Just couldn't pass it up!
Little Jokester - she was balancing on this balloon (her own set direction after I was taking some photos of C.). This is her personality all of the time - really happy, silly, looking for the next laugh.

New kicks! You can't tell but these sparkle/glitter and they are SO cute I wish they were in my size! They were on clearance so we grabbed the silver ones (with cherrys on the side) in today's shoe size and the bright pink ones (our fav's!!) 1/2 size bigger! So so so cool!
We went to a fun local festival today. The girls enjoyed the rides and other activities. It reminded me so much of the parks in China with little impromptu activities. The weather was really beautiful today.
Uncle Mike can fix anything! This car was C's but we couldn't get it to charge again and it went in the "dump" pile that Uncle Mike graciously took for us in his truck. We went over for dinner this afternoon and low and behold - he got the car working again, AND discovered it has a real radio in it as well! T. was absolutely beside herself that the car was working. Uncle Mike is delivering it back to our house tomorrow. Tell me - you are reading this and either A. You are jealous of T.'s new wheels or B. You are jealous of our Uncle Mike and wish he was your uncle too! We love you, Uncle Mike!
Trial Run - the girls are going camping with dad next weekend so they were testing out the tent they borrowed. The girls had a fun time loading it with all of the throw pillows and blankets they could find and playing "night time" until dad took the tent down. I think they'll have a great time!
Unhappy! 10:15pm and I hadn't taken a photo so I took one of T. who was refusing to go to sleep. This is about our lives so here she is. Still cute, but tired and cranky. My baby. She's going to hate this when she's 15...
Look who came to the office with me today! She stayed all day, watching movies on the laptop, playing DS, coloring and entertaining everyone (including me). We had a really lovely day today!
Our little baby. Every time I blow dry her hair, she asks me "Am I pretty?" (meaning, are you done because I am SO done with blow drying, Mommy). I can't help but tell her that she is always pretty. Here she is - all bright eyed and so not ready to go to sleep!
Flight! Yes, my 3 have taken flight this past weekend. One was still hanging out on and off during the day and even came and watched me through the lunch room window (no lie!). Unfortunately, my 3 seem to have zero fear of people and everyone walking past had great fun walking almost right up to the two that were down be the cafeteria. Anyway- those little blue eggs are now full grown ravens, really beautiful, really big ravens.
Eric spent the day cleaning our garage so I took C. to gymnastics. This is her favorite thing to do right now - bridging. She really enjoys this class and looks forward to it all week. I took my zoom lens and had a fun time with it - She was actually quite a distance from the parent seating. Love the determination in her face.
The girls took a quick dip before dinner. I love watching how comfortable they are - really little fish. They both practiced floating and had some fun cooling off!
Eric was a good sport about posing tonight. Home sick again - I guess I could have taken a photo of the bed but its not made, and well, who wants to remember that? So here Eric is, enjoying The Office and some peace and quiet and humoring me.
We are all loving the new comfy sofa. I cannot believe that we went through three futons over the last ten years. What were we thinking? This thing is so darn comfortable!
Not a pretty shot - sorry. I have been sick again today and worse tonight so I'm not up for editing. So now there are two - the birds were old enough last week to fledge so I'm hopeful the big guy (my fav) has found himself greener pastures. These two looked lost today without him and spent a good amount of time flapping their wings.
We had another dr. apt today - I think this is the cutest hospital exam table I've ever seen. It was just the perfect size! Nemo thought so too.
Happy Mother's Day! Guest Photographer Eric for this shot! We had a fun day at home. Breakfast was made for me, there were fun presents made for me, we did a quick little photo shoot and our favorite Chinese food for dinner. Really great day!
My lovely girl. We watched home movies of this one as a baby - she was such a sweet, lovely little baby. Really no wonder she is who she is now. A reminder why this blog is called Lucky Mama!
So, one of the things that I love about my husband is that he's the kind of dad that is willing to break out a puzzle or a game with the girls. I'm not as spontaneous, but he is great with "in the moment" things and the girls love that too!
Okay - first, let me say I just got around to checking out the Pioneer Woman Photoshop actions. OMG - so so cool! Second, look at possibly the coolest skirts on the planet! You'll get a better look at them because we are SO going to go do some posed shots somewhere, but here they are in action! I won the little one in the recent Love Without Boundaries art action and when I won, I found out that a mom from my adoption agency was the artist and she let me buy a second one for my big girl. They came today and we had to bust them out tonight! OH they are so so pretty, but even better - they twirl like nothing I've every seen! Thank you!!
So tonight, I was delayed going home. There was a fatal accident on one of the roads I cut through and the streets were closed as the police investigated the scene. I didn't have to pick up the girls so I wasn't in a hurry - but I had plenty of time to contemplate. I decided to stop by the cemetery (I pass it every day - twice) to visit my dad's grave. This is from one of the rose bushes that line the path up to his niche. Its a really nice, quiet place.
My Beanie Baby - she found her winter hat and wore it to the grocery tonight -such a funny little thing. Here she is enjoying the best Popsicle flavor (imho) - grape - yum!
They are so big this week and spend a lot of time on the edge of the nest, stretching their wings. I caught them sleeping - this one is the character that sleeps on its side and I just love how the other bird is watchfully standing over.
It was rainy today so Mom made a fort out of the dining room chairs and blankets to jazz up movie time. The kids watched Fraggle Rock and Jungle Book 2 (well C. did, T. mostly ran around causing a commotion). The kids seemed to enjoy the fort. =)
Happy {i}NSD! (for you non-geek's - that's International Scrapbooking Day! Susan came over to spend the day showing off her shiny new laptop and enjoying me turn positively green. Notice how she chose my very favorite color (down to the mouse...) Isn't it gorgeous?
